Lyrics

the bright moon of harvest is nigh
the air is crisp; an apple's first bite
the wooly bear is showing it's stripes
the grasshopper sings while the ant gathers

I've been searching the sky
for some kind of sign
can't change anything

how the colors will fade
with the light of the day
the palate does grey
all too soon, my love

the fields are bursting with fruits
migrant workers come to dig up the roots
how many miles will they walk in their boots
an old blackbird sings the autumn leaves scatter

I rush through the days
like some crushing wave
tomorrow can't wait

oh, winter will come
but before it's begun
let the warm, heavy sun
capture you, my love

the water is cold her rosy cheeks dull
the grasshopper slows
it's intervals the devil finds sight

I've been searching the sky
for some kind of sign
I can't change anything

how the colors will fade
with the light of the day
the palate does grey
all too soon, my love

idleness brings wanting, it stings
when before it was effortless
and endless my love
